Comprehensive Eye Exam

A comprehensive eye exam is a thorough evaluation of your vision, eye health, and overall well-being. It includes tests for visual acuity, eye conditions, and precise eyeglass or contact lens prescriptions. The exam assesses your eye structures, measures intraocular pressure, and helps identify any signs of eye diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, or macular degeneration. The results are discussed, and recommendations may include glasses, contacts, or further treatment.

Regular comprehensive eye exams are important for detecting issues early and are key to preventing vision loss. Many eye diseases often go undetected because most ocular diseases have no symptoms. Early diagnosis is key to preventing vision loss and ensuring good ocular health.

Dry Eye Therapy

Dry eye syndrome occurs when your eyes do not produce enough tears or the quality of your tears is compromised, leading to dryness, irritation, and other uncomfortable symptoms. Our goal is to identify the underlying causes of your dry eye and develop a tailored treatment plan for you. Here's an overview of some of our dry eye treatment options:

  • Artificial Tears and Lubricating Eye Drops

  • Prescription Medications

  • TearCare System

    • Meibomian glands are oil glands in the eyelids produce oils that help keep tears from evaporating too quickly. Meibomian gland disease/dysfunction (MGD), or clogged oil glands, is a common cause of dry eye.

    • TearCare System is an advanced spa-like treatment method for dry eye syndrome. It uses controlled heat and gentle massage to improve the function of the meibomian glands, which produce the oily layer of tears. By targeting the root cause of dry eye, the Tearcare System offers relief from symptoms such as dryness, burning, and itching. It is customizable, comfortable, and administered by trained professionals. With regular use, it can provide long-lasting results and improved tear stability.

  • Meibomian Gland Expression

    • A gentle technique to unclog and stimulate the glands, promoting the healthy production of oils.

LASIK Consultation

LASIK, or Laser-Assisted in Situ Keratomileusis, is a popular refractive surgery procedure that corrects vision problems such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. LASIK has become a widely accepted and effective method for improving vision, offering convenience and reducing the reliance on corrective lenses for many individuals. Before undergoing LASIK surgery, patients typically go through a comprehensive pre-operative eye exam and consultation.

There are certain cases where patients may qualify for PRK (Photorefractive Keratectomy) and other refractive surgeries but not LASIK. The consultation appointments ensures your eligibility and helps customize the treatment for optimal results.

Rigid Gas-Permeable Contact Lenses

  • Rigid Gas Permeable (RGP) contact lenses are a type of rigid or hard contact lens made from durable plastic materials that allow oxygen to pass through the lens to the cornea of the eye. Unlike traditional hard lenses, RGPs are designed to be more permeable to gases, which helps maintain eye health by allowing oxygen to reach the cornea.

  • These lenses provide crisp and clear vision by maintaining their shape on the eye, which can be especially beneficial for people with astigmatism or certain corneal irregularities. RGPs are known for their durability and longevity, making them a cost-effective option over time.

  • While they may take some time to get used to compared to soft contact lenses, many individuals find that RGPs offer excellent visual acuity and comfort once properly fitted and adjusted. However, it's crucial for users to follow the care and cleaning instructions provided by their eye care professionals to ensure the lenses remain in good condition and to promote eye health.

Contact Lens Evaluation

After the comprehensive eye exam, our experienced optometrists will guide you through a thorough assessment tailored specifically for existing and first-time contact lens wearers. Based on your unique eye characteristics and vision requirements, our optometrist will recommend the most suitable contact lens type, material, and size for you. We will take precise measurements to ensure a proper fit and comfortable wearing experience.

Soft Contact Lenses

  • Soft contact lenses are thin, flexible, and comfortable lenses made from water-absorbing materials like hydrogel. They conform to the eye's shape, ensuring a comfortable fit, and come in various types, including daily wear, extended wear, and disposable options. Soft lenses are easy to adapt to, and some offer UV protection. Users should follow proper hygiene practices and replacement schedules for eye health.

Myopia Control Management Program

Myopia control refers to various strategies and treatments aimed at slowing down the progression of myopia, also known as nearsightedness. The objective of myopia control is to reduce the rate at which the eye elongates and vision worsens over time.

It is particularly important to consider myopia control measures for children with parents who have high myopia, as this condition increases the risk of certain potentially sight-threatening complications such as glaucoma, myopic maculopathy, and retinal detachment.

The myopia control methods offered at our facility include:

  • FDA-approved dual focus soft contact lenses

  • Multifocal contact lenses

  • Atropine eye drops

These approaches aim to provide clear distance vision and reduce the strain on the eyes, potentially slowing down myopia progression. Additionally, lifestyle modifications like spending more time outdoors, reducing screen time, and maintaining good visual habits may contribute to myopia control. Regular eye examinations are crucial for monitoring myopia progression and determining the effectiveness of the chosen control methods. By implementing appropriate interventions, myopia control aims to minimize the advancement of nearsightedness and promote better long-term eye health
